Where electrolysis exhibits a gray coating, then electrolysis is flowing in two directions, at different times.

Windscreen wiper motor. The wiper motor insulation was failing. It produced electrolysis 24 hours a day every day of the year. The motor still operated correctly but a little intermittent and a bit slower. Found by progressively disconnecting pairs of wires until SeaBis indicates Normal
