However the same effect has many causes.
Where electrolysis exhibits a gray coating, then electrolysis is flowing in two directions, at different times.
The SeaBis System makes all wet fittings, the hull / engine etc. electrically open circuit.

Radar. The installer had not followed the manufacturers direction, correctly. With the elimination of electrolysis, from the radar, the radar display had less (electronic) noise, better definition and increased range.
Note: This problem is very common. Electrolysis is removing particles of metal. That results in the paint lifting.
