The Worst of All Myths:
Do nothing, bury your head in the sand:

"The effect is under water and it will go away ". Or "I can always sell it ". "There are more pressing matters I must attend to."
Too often the SeaBis System is installed after the vessel has been slipped and repaired twice at Au$5,000 to $10,000 each time. This cost is not unusual. It is a cheap slip repair. We have witnessed $5,000 paid twice, for the same repair, over a four month period. We have seen a 5 millimeter thick hull damaged by thousands of 4 millimeter pin holes in 3 months - the cause was a new VHF antenna generating stray current. The VHF antenna communicated perfectly.

The boating industry has an excellent word of mouth network. Trying to sell a Hot Boat to a knowledgeable market will result in a massive loss - if you can get someone to buy. Assuming you do find an inexperienced person, you may be held legally liable for the new Owners repair costs.

There are too many similar stories and too much legal precedent. From massive long term experience 9 out of 10 vessels are affected by stray current.

It's Too Hard...

If you read Tips for Troubleshooters (at Downloads) click here you will have more knowledge than most and in purchasing the SeaBis System your money will be wisely spent.

Any product or source of information with regard to finding a solution for electrolysis corrosion should be thorough, clearly understood and with a valid product guarantee. Be sure to ask questions and know how the product works and does what is states. Only purchase if you are fully satisfied it will do the job.

Common Bonding or inter-connecting all wet metal will fix it...

Connecting all wet metal together will reduce the inter-metal natural voltage. This natural voltage is 1 volt and your boat is 12 or 24 volts. At best this inter-connection can reduce metal voltages by 1 volt in 12 or 24 volts. It will increase the effects of stray current because there is now a much larger wet conducting area.

It's the shore power...

O/Kay! This can get technical but lets explain. Shore power, when plugged in, CAN connect your boat to another boat, transferring the DC (battery) problems.

Your and others vessel batteries, WILL, 24 hours a day, every day, create stray current in the water that causes electrolysis corrosion. The SeaBis System will protect your vessel from both problems. Your vessel will be immune. It can neither cause or be affected (other vessels / mooring / seabed) by stray current.

Fit more anodes...

1 kilogram of anode produces 1 millionth of an amp anti electrolysis current. Stray current varies from 1 thousandth of an amp to several amps. The anode current is swamped by the stray current on a 1:1000 ratio. The SeaBis System protects your vessel from stray current so the anodes can now protect from galvanic (inter-metal, natural current, when in water) current..

I paid $250,000 so it won't happen to me...

Most medium to large professional fishing boats are fitted with fully electrically isolated engines. All is well until a VHF antenna develops a fault that allows it to transmit and receive normally but defeats that expensive electrical isolation. As in the first paragraph.

Unfortunately the domestic market is not so careful. While the top section of domestic vessels have isolated engines the majority do not. The SeaBis System is a ongoing investment.

It's the Marina and they have insurance...

While the Marina may contribute to stray current, the real cause is the vessel. Stray current flows between most vessels, the Marina and seabed through the water.

Vessels within at least 100 meters will contribute to the stray current flowing through the water. It is impossible to determine the exact cause, except when measured by SeaBis on your boat. We can prove your vessel is / is not contributing but not that the vessels moored adjacent are the cause. It is totally practical to use the SeaBis System to make your vessel immune to stray current.

Legal cases between vessel Owners and Marinas are becoming more common.

It's too expensive / difficult to fix...

While we cannot predict the cost of repairing all causes on your vessel, the worst case cost of repair is much less than one slip repair. We have experienced Owners solving the cause for under Au$100.00.
